Week 6
Day 37 Broome
We made our way down to Cable Beach for a swim. We drove down on the beach, it was so much fun. Found a great little secluded spot and had a swim. We swam with 7 sting rays it was incredible. Kids had a great time swimming and playing in the sand. So great to have a little relax after a very busy 5 weeks.
After lunch we headed to near the dock and found some rock pools to explore. Absolutely beautiful. We found lots of beautiful shells and hermit crabs.
Then off to Matsos Brewery for some beer sampling and dinner! Yummo!
Day 38 Broome
Down to Cable Beach again today. It is so great to just load up the car, drive to where we want and jump out and swim. And it is so large that there is plenty of room for everyone, and you don’t really see the people near you at all. Except it turns out the beach is a nudie beach, that took a little bit of explaining to the kids haha. Lots of boogie boarding for the kids today, then Scotty took the kids to the rock pools where they did lots of discovering. I had high expectations for Broome and it has completely exceeded them.
Day 39 Broome
Car was booked in for a service today, so Scotty went and dropped it off. When he got home we walked down to the beach. Kids did some more boogie boarding and sand castle building. I enjoyed a swim and reading of my book. Scotty had a swim and a nice walk along the beach. Perfect way to spend the day.
After Scotty picked up the car, we headed down and watched the sunset on the beach. Breathtaking.
Day 40 Broome
Woke to another beautiful day in paradise. Absolutely spoilt today with a visit from Paula and Alex, who brought a feast of mud crabs and fish with them that they had caught!
Absolutely delicious and so great to catch up with them.
After a lovely lunch, Scotty took the kids to have a ride in a road train. Would you believe he met a guy at Matsos that works at RTA who offered to show them around. Kids thought it was fabulous!
Cable Beach Caravan Park is awesome, we really loved it.
Day 41 Broome to 80 Mile Beach
Drove from Broome to 80 Mile Beach. Arrived at 80 Mile Beach Caravan Park and managed to grab one of the last powered sites. What a beautiful little park. We wandered down to the beach and OH MY GOODNESS! Just beautiful! And the shells.........they are incredible and they are EVERYWHERE. Filled a bucket very very quickly.
Headed back down to the beach to watch the sunset. Another incredible west coast sunset, I’m not sure I’ll ever get sick of watching them. We even spotted a dead baby grey nurse shark on the beach.
Day 42 80 Mile Beach
What a spot to wake up in! Headed down the beach for some shell collecting. Lots of shell collecting today and exploring and enjoying the beach. More incredible shells added to our collection. We saw a dead shovel shark, the baby grey nurse from yesterday, two dead snakes and three dead sting rays. Lovely peaceful way to spend the day.
Gorgeous almost full moon tonight. It is just amazing, it looks like it is so close.
Day 43 80 Mile Beach
Today we headed to Cape Keraudren for a day trip to have a little look. So beautiful, and the campsites here look amazing! Not as many shells as 80 Mile Beach, but still gorgeous. Kids had a great time playing in the waves as we walked along the beach.
We are heading to Karijini National Park, we will be sad to leave the beach but it won’t be long until we are back.
