Hi Friends,
We’ve done a lot of travelling since I last wrote to you all. We have traveled a total of 13,500kms. We are in Kalbarri, Western Australia.
When I last wrote, we were headed to Broome. It was great, we got to drive on the beach and we did lots of swimming and boogie boarding. We also discovered a lot of rock pools and saw starfish, octopus, crabs and lots of little fish.
Next stop was 80 Mile Beach which was covered shells! We collected lots and lots of shells. We spent days collecting shells here.
We stopped in at Karijini where we did some more gorge walks and I did a really cool spider walk with my Dad and Sister. It was really awesome, we had to walk through water.
We visited Tom Price Mine, where we did a tour and we got some iron ore and I got some tiger ore. The mine has some really huge trucks!
Osprey Bay, so awesome! We camped right by the beach and we could walk right across to the beach of a morning and jump in and snorkel with TURTLES and STINGRAYS!!! It was AWESOME! We saw soooooo much coral and sooooooo many fish. We did a cruise in the ocean around the Ningaloo Reef, and we saw some humpback whales and stingrays. We even got lucky enough to see a white tip reef shark, it was chasing me…. just kidding. haha.
We stayed two nights at a working cattle station. There were sheep just walking around, and they made damper by the campfire every night. We were lucky enough that our first night, the Western Australian Variety Bash had a stopover there, so in the morning we got to see some really, really cool cars that were all decorated. My favourite was a pokemon one.
Next up was Waroora Station (pronounced Warra). Here we camped right on the beach…suckers… IT WAS AMAZING!!!! Every night we collected ghost crabs. We went fishing on the beach. My dad caught an Octopus and we ate it, it was delicious. We went exploring rock pools and we saw some giant starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, a big octopus and lots and lots of giant clams. We also went to Coral Bay for some great snorkelling, the name makes so much sense. We also saw some reef sharks.
We stopped and saw the Quobba Blow Holes. They were pretty cool, the ocean pushes sea water up through holes in the rocks and it looks awesome!
Whalebone bay…. so beautiful. We stayed right on the shore, and we saw tiger sharks on my brothers birthday and stingrays. And then we drove to Monkey Mia.
In Monkey Mia we saw lots and lots of dolphins. I even got to feed one, I was pretty lucky to be chosen. We went for a kayak and saw lots of stingrays and lots of fish. We to the Ocean Park where we got to learn about deadly marine creatures, including, stone fish, sharks, scorpion fish, sea snakes, moray eels and even a shark/stingray called a shovel nose ray that is a combination of a shark and a ray.
Thats it for now.
Hopefully we have more internet for the rest of the trip.
Love Liam.
