Hi Everyone,
How are you all doing? We are now at the start of week 10 of our trip and we are having a great time.
We have traveled 13,500kms (that is a lot!!!). We are in Perth, in Western Australia.
We visited the amazing World Heritage area the Bungle Bungles. It was really hot and we saw a whip snake.
My favourite spot so far is Broome! We stayed for 5 nights. We stayed close to the beach, we got to drive on the beach. We did lots of swimming and boogie boarding. There were Jelly Fish.
Next stop was 80 Mile Beach. It was very shelly. We collected lots and lots of different kinds of shells. We saw a dead shark and a dead stingray on the beach.
We visited a mining site at Tom Price and we got to keep some different kinds of Ores each. The dump trucks were huge! The tyres were bigger than me and cost $40,000 each!
Osprey Bay, WOW. It was so cool we saw lots of turtles when we were snorkelling at the beach. It is along the Ningaloo Reef so there are lots of amazing creatures. We saw some sting rays too. When we were here we went on a Humpback Whale cruise and we got lucky enough to see a calf do jumps out of the water. We even snorkelled with a white tip reef shark!!!
We did a really cool stay at a Working Cattle Station, Bullara Station. There were outside showers and sheep walking around. There was even a car show with lots of strange but cool cars. (Mum note: WA Variety Bash was staying here at the same time as us, on one of their overnight rest stops.)
14 Mile Beach! Here we got to camp literally ON THE BEACH! At night we got to find ghost crabs with some other families. We also had campfires in a metal drum. My Dad caught an octopus and we ate it, it was delicious!
I spent the start of my Birthday at Whalebone Bay before we went to Monkey Mia. The view at Whalebone Bay was amazing. I was lucky enough to see a stingray and two sharks when we were looking out from the cliff. At Monkey Mia, we got to feed dolphins, it was awesome! They were very playful and the calves were so cute.
We are still having a great time. Miss you lots and thanks for the birthday message. It was awesome!
Cheers,
Hamish
